Books by Barbara McMartin
Barbara McMartin's books provide all of the information that you need to plan and experience an enjoyable hike in the Adirondacks. In addition to their technical information, McMartin's texts include her personal experiences and historical information about the areas described. The maps included with many of the guidebooks show bushwhacking and slide-climbing routes. Overall, I would recommend her books over the ADK guidebooks.
