Information:
The John's Brook Valley is very popular with hikers for its beauty and because it allows access to some of the finest hikes in the High Peaks of the Adirondacks, including the entire Great Range and Mount Marcy. Upper and Lower Wolf Jaws, Armstrong, Gothics, Basin, Saddleback, Haystack, The Brothers, Big Slide, Yard, and Mount Marcy are all easily accessible from this area.
The Adirondack Mountain Club has a beautiful lodge located in the valley, aptly named John's Brook Loj. The Loj is fully staffed during peak season (Memorial through Labor days) and can be reserved on a caretaker basis during the pre and post seasons. ADK also has two cabins and several lean-tos which can be rented year-round.
